Dan Bishop is from Raleigh North Carolina and has been playing Fingerstyle Guitar for over 30 years; almost all of which has been dedicated to Chet Atkins style of playing.  He has also been teaching Fingerstyle Guitar in the Raleigh area for the past 18 years.   He is a co-founder of the Chet Atkins Fans website, and as Dan states it "When he first heard Chet play 'Winter Walkin' on his Guitar Country album, he was ruined for life."   Dan considers himself very fortunate to be good friends with a number of Country Guitar's finest such as Buster B. Jones, Gene Slone, and Joe Edwards.

Besides transcribing many of Chet's arrangements, he has written and arranged his own music over the years as well.
